Velocut SspI Cat. No. HYF299

Product Overview

Velocut SspI (HYF299) is a recombinant restriction endonuclease designed for efficient DNA digestion in molecular biology workflows. It supports the digestion of plasmid DNA, PCR products, and genomic DNA containing the specific recognition site, with reactions completed in 5–15 minutes at 37°C using the recommended 1× reaction buffer.

The supplied color reaction buffer contains red and yellow tracking dyes, allowing digested DNA samples to be loaded directly onto an agarose gel without adding a separate loading dye. In a 1% agarose gel, the red dye migrates similarly to a 2,500 bp double-stranded DNA fragment, while the yellow dye migrates similarly to a 10 bp fragment. The enzyme can be heat-inactivated at 80°C for 20 minutes.

Product Features

  • Direct Gel Loading: The supplied color reaction buffer contains tracking dyes that support direct loading of digestion products onto agarose gels.
  • Convenient Heat Inactivation: Can be inactivated at 80°C for 20 minutes, supporting streamlined downstream workflows.

FAQ

Q1: How long does Velocut SspI take to digest DNA?

Velocut SspI typically completes DNA digestion in 5–15 minutes at 37°C using the recommended 1× reaction buffer. Actual performance may depend on the DNA substrate and reaction setup.

Q2: Can Velocut SspI be heat-inactivated after digestion?

Yes. Velocut SspI can be heat-inactivated by incubating the reaction at 80°C for 20 minutes.

Q3: Can digestion products be loaded directly onto an agarose gel?

Yes. The supplied color reaction buffer contains red and yellow tracking dyes, allowing digestion products to be loaded directly onto an agarose gel without adding a separate loading dye.
