Product Overview
HYF250 Velocut DraI is a recombinant restriction endonuclease developed for efficient DNA digestion in molecular biology workflows. Suitable for DNA substrates containing the appropriate DraI recognition site, it supports the digestion of plasmid DNA, PCR products, and genomic DNA. Under recommended reaction conditions, digestion can typically be completed in 5–15 minutes at 37°C.
For convenient downstream analysis, a color reaction buffer containing red and yellow tracking dyes allows digestion reactions to be loaded directly onto an agarose gel without adding a separate loading dye. In a 1% agarose gel, the red dye migrates similarly to approximately 2,500 bp double-stranded DNA, while the yellow dye migrates similarly to approximately 10 bp double-stranded DNA.
Cleavage of EcoKI-methylated DNA may be inhibited, so the methylation status of the DNA substrate should be considered when planning digestion. HYF250 Velocut DraI can be heat-inactivated at 80°C for 20 minutes and should be stored at −20°C, with a shelf life of two years.
