Velocut MunI (MfeI) - HYF274
Velocut MunI (MfeI) Cat. No. HYF274

Product Overview

HYF274 Velocut MunI (MfeI) is a rapid restriction enzyme developed to support efficient DNA digestion in molecular biology workflows. Under the recommended reaction conditions, it enables digestion in 5–15 minutes at 37°C, helping streamline DNA preparation for downstream applications.

The supplied color reaction buffer contains red and yellow tracking dyes, allowing digestion products to be loaded directly onto an agarose gel without adding a separate loading dye. In a 1% agarose gel, the red dye migrates similarly to approximately 2,500 bp double-stranded DNA, while the yellow dye migrates similarly to approximately 10 bp double-stranded DNA.

Velocut MunI (MfeI) cannot be heat-inactivated. After digestion, phenol-chloroform extraction or column purification should be used when enzyme removal is required. Store at −20°C for up to 2 years.

Product Features

  • Rapid DNA Digestion: Enables digestion in 5–15 minutes at 37°C under the recommended reaction conditions for suitable plasmid DNA, PCR products, and genomic DNA containing the recognition site.
  • Convenient Gel Electrophoresis: The supplied color reaction buffer contains red and yellow tracking dyes, allowing digested samples to be loaded directly onto an agarose gel and facilitating electrophoresis monitoring.
  • Non-Heat-Inactivatable Enzyme: Cannot be heat-inactivated. Phenol-chloroform extraction or column purification is recommended when enzyme removal is required after digestion.

FAQ

Q1: How long does Velocut MunI (MfeI) digestion take?

Under the recommended reaction conditions, digestion typically takes 5–15 minutes at 37°C. Actual performance depends on the DNA substrate and reaction setup.

Q2: Can Velocut MunI (MfeI) be heat-inactivated after digestion?

No. Velocut MunI (MfeI) cannot be heat-inactivated. Phenol-chloroform extraction or column purification is recommended when removal of the enzyme is required.

Q3: Can digestion products be loaded directly onto an agarose gel?

Yes. The supplied color reaction buffer contains red and yellow tracking dyes, allowing direct gel loading. In a 1% agarose gel, the red dye migrates similarly to approximately 2,500 bp double-stranded DNA, while the yellow dye migrates similarly to approximately 10 bp double-stranded DNA.
