Product Overview
HYF240 Velocut BsmI is a recombinant restriction endonuclease designed for rapid DNA digestion in molecular biology workflows. It can be used to digest DNA containing the appropriate BsmI recognition site, including plasmid DNA, PCR products, and genomic DNA.
Under the recommended reaction conditions, digestion can be completed in 5–15 minutes at 37°C. The enzyme is compatible with standard reaction buffer and color reaction buffer. The color reaction buffer contains red and yellow tracking dyes, allowing digested samples to be loaded directly onto an agarose gel without adding a separate loading dye. In a 1% agarose gel, the red dye migrates similarly to approximately 2,500 bp double-stranded DNA, while the yellow dye migrates similarly to approximately 10 bp double-stranded DNA.
Cleavage by HYF240 Velocut BsmI may be inhibited by EcoBI methylation. The enzyme can be heat-inactivated at 80°C for 20 minutes and stored at −20°C for up to 2 years.
