Product Overview
SgeI (HYF213) is a restriction endonuclease designed to recognize and cleave specific DNA targets containing 5-methylcytosine (5-mC). It recognizes the ᵐ⁵CNNG(9/13)^ recognition site and can act on target DNA in either single-stranded or double-stranded form.
For optimal performance, SgeI is used with the recommended 1× reaction buffer and incubated at 37°C. The enzyme’s storage buffer contains premixed bovine serum albumin (BSA), which helps stabilize the enzyme and bind potential contaminants present in DNA preparations. SgeI can be heat-inactivated at 65°C for 5 minutes.
